Our Leaflet & Flyers Folding Types

Z Fold

The z fold  is another popular form of brochure fold. This is similar to the tri-fold, in that it’s comprised of three double-sided panels, however, the way its folded mirrors the shape of an accordion rather than folding inwards.

Tri Fold

One of the most popular types of brochure folds, the trifold, divides your sheet of paper or card into three. Then both the right and left panels fold on top of the central panel, typically with right underneath the left.

Roll Fold

The paper is folded so that the panels roll in on each other, like a spiral. Panel 1 and 2 have the same size but then each subsequent panel gets a little smaller so that they can fit inside each other.

Half Fold

A half-fold brochure (sometimes known as a basic-fold brochure) means a single piece of paper folded in half, to create a booklet appearance. When opened, this type of brochure presents the reader with two main internal panels.

Accordion 3

Our option of 250gsm Ivory Super White Business Cards has a original matte finish that performs beautifully with conventional print methods such as digital, offset, foil stamping . A super white colour contrasts nicely for enhanced readability.

Accordion 4

Each fold opens in the opposite direction to its neighbor, giving a pleated or concertina effect. Usually the panels have the same width although there are printers that recommend making the front cover panel slightly wider.

Cross Fold

This is a combination of two half folds – The page is first folded in half horizontally and then again vertically. This folding scheme is commonly used for cards and typically has printing on only one side.

No fold

Advertising is a big expense, so customised advertising methods like professional flyers and leaflets are an invaluable tool. Businesses can use them to advertise their products and events without having restrictions to the amount of details they provide. Essentially, you can have a large ‘attention grabber’ and still provide insight on what sets you apart from the competition and why you deserve the reader’s time and money.

In short, there really isn’t a difference! The reason that both terms are used across our site and the world wide web is that the two are interchangeable. They both have similar characteristics such as they’re unbound, single sheets of printed paper and can be used for marketing and non-marketing purposes including advertising events, products, services, special offers and promotions.

The only real difference you would find is that a flyer is generally unfolded, and a leaflet can be created either flat or folded. So, if you’re looking to add a lot of information to your artwork, a leaflet would offer plenty of smaller spaces to break this information up.

Both leaflets and flyers can be a beneficial marketing tool for many businesses and aren’t limited to giveaways in bags at networking events. If you have an estate agency and you’re looking for a non-intrusive way to give potential buyers information on a property, why not look into printing leaflets that are slimmerand fit into people’s bags better?

Got an event approaching that you want to shout about? Make an impact with a quirky square flyer size, perfect for getting all the basic information you need on one side so it’s easy for people to see.

Once you’ve worked on designing a leaflet and have your marketing ready to go, it’s key that you know where they should be distributed. A local business may want to place them in nearby cafés and restaurants, whereas B2B firms should save them for conferences and networking events.
